Wedding of Raja Fatimah binti Sultan Iskandar Shah, 1926

Marriage between members of different Royal houses are common, with one of the best examples in history being those of Europe during the time of Queen Victoria. These pictures are of the wedding of YAM Raja Fatimah binti Sultan Iskandar Shah of Perak, and YTM Tengku Abu Bakar ibni Sultan Abdullah Shah of Pahang (Tengku Mahkota of Pahang), at Istana Merchu in Kuala Kangsar on 23 May 1926.

Tengku Abu Bakar was installed DYMM Sultan Abu Bakar Riayatuddin Al-Muadzam Shah six years later and Raja Fatimah was named Tengku Ampuan Besar Pahang. They had issue, who is the present Sultan of Pahang, DYMM Sultan Ahmad Shah.
