Wedding of DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah and Tuanku Bainun

DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah was married to Tuanku Bainun Mohd Ali in 1955, after his return from England. DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah was then a magistrate in Kuala Lumpur, and Tuanku Bainun was teaching at that time, having returned from Kirkby, England herself.

The royal couple have issue – two princes and three princesses. The eldest is DYTM Raja Muda Nazrin Shah, followed by YAM Raja Dato’ Seri Azureen, YAM Raja Kecil Tengah Dato’ Seri Ashman Shah, YAM Raja Eleena and YAM Raja Yong Sofia.

  2. Salam. Beberapa bulan sebelum kembali ke rahmatullah pada 1995, arwah datuk saya, Raja Sulaiman, pernah menceritakan bahawa dia diminta oleh Almarhum Sultan Yussuf menyertai rombongan meminang Tuanku Bainun.
