  1. my dad recalled in those days the northbound train MUST stop at padang rengas. an additional engine will be added to the rear so as to provide additional drive for the train to get up bukit berapit. the additional engine then leaves the main train at taiping. thus, all southbound trains have to stop at taiping to have that additional engine for the bukit berapit segment.

    and in those days (don’t know about now – then again, not many use the train these days!), raja2 bergelor dpt pass to use the trains!
