YAM Raja Zarith Sofia binti Sultan Idris Shah was born 14 August 1959. She was educated at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College and later at Somerville College, Oxford. She is the Chairperson of the Community Services Committee of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, a Royal Fellow at the School of Language and Linguistic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and writes the column Mind Matters for The Star.
DYAM Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Ibni Sultan Mahmud Iskandar Al-Haj (born 22 November 1958) is the incumbent Tunku Mahkota of Johor since 1981, after his father, Sultan Mahmud Iskandar, was appointed the Sultan of Johor. He received prior military training at Fort Benning in Georgia and Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
